Düsseldorf to Cologne
I'm leaving Düsseldorf for a short while and traveling to Cologne with Alex and Igor. The road from Düsseldorf to Cologne is excellent, well-maintained, and, of course, busy. It's one of the short routes that I've traveled at least four or six times.
Traveling with Alex is enjoyable; I've traveled with him three times in the past nine years. He's one of those people who adapts to situations, is flexible, and has a lot of peace. Alex is an introverted, friendly, personable, and kind person, although he has his flaws, which I won't write about here.
He's one of those people who has been patient with my photography on our trips together, although fatigue is easily visible on his face.
Thoughts in Cologne
Sometimes I complain about getting older, however, lately, the things that have happened to me with the passage of time have caught my attention.
In my adolescence, for example, or in my twenties, small things in human relationships often plunged me into the depths, and I would get caught up in them for a while. For example, when I met my friends' friends, or people I had just met, when I didn't shake hands with them, or didn't kiss them on the cheek, I would think to myself for a long time that maybe that action should have been done? And also the opposite of this. This was just one example, and many small things stayed with me for a long time. Now, however, it is not like that; all these things are quickly forgotten.
I think many things need the passage of age to fall into place, and this is where I think to myself that maybe it hasn't been so bad.
Cologne Cathedral
Cologne Cathedral, a beautiful edifice crowning the city of Cologne, is a relic of bygone eras and a testament to the mastery of Gothic architects. This grand structure, with a history spanning over eight centuries, is not only a symbol of Germany's rich and vibrant history and culture but also an embodiment of faith and art.
During the throes of World War II, when the fires of destruction raged across the city, the cathedral remained standing. It is said that the towering spires of the cathedral served as a navigational landmark for Allied pilots, sparing it from direct bombardment.
Today, Cologne Cathedral is a captivating destination for tourists from around the world, who come to witness history and art in the shadow of this magnificent structure; I, Alex, and Igor spent a very beautiful time in this city.
