Just a few steps away from main street and the main square of Mestia, you will suddenly find yourself in the middle of streets and muddy and dirt alleys full of stray pigs and herds of domestic animals. You will see many happy and smiling Georgian children playing in these streets and alleys, and fortunately, this environment has not yet been spoiled by the large amount of tourists. By traveling to Svanti and Mestia, you will notice the contrast and of course the coexistence of modernity and tradition. Location

Mestia is one of those cities that you should avoid staying in its center, because its beauty is more visible by staying at a height; The Old House Mestia Hotel is located on the heights of the northern side of the city, where it offers a view of the whole city, and the Mestiachala River, and is located behind the hiking trail and in the arms of Mount Ushba.

To access, you pass through the old and beautiful alleys of Mestia, step on the old stones of the city, touch the walls and feel the smell of nature. Cows and dogs may welcome you, and that's exactly what you came to Mestia for.

It can also be reached by car. Old House Mestia also has a parking. This is the best location to stay away from the noise of cars in the city center, where you can embrace nature at once.

    View

The view of Old House Mestia is something that cannot be put into words. Indeed, there are no words to describe it. It is exactly what can be found in a dream. A view that touches the entire city of Mestia under your feet and you see yourself in same level with the mountains in front of you.

This is one of those views that gives you a sense of being an eagle, a sense of power, a feeling you wouldn't want to trade for anything. All different parts of the hotel offer you this view. Open space in front of the hotel, hotel restaurant, and all rooms. Especially the eastern rooms of the hotel offer a view towards the eastern mountains, a view from which I even saw a beautiful rainbow one day.

    Welcoming

Entering the hotel was met with a wonderful welcome. The hotel host greeted me with kindness and a smile and introduced the hotel rooms. Meanwhile, a dog named "Masi" showed his happiness to see the new guests.

As I wrote above, there is an atmosphere in the Old House Mestia Hotel where all the hosts and guests feel like they are a family, an intimate feeling that makes this space very lovely and beyond a hotel.

The hosts of the hotel do not look at the guests as customers, but they share the humanity, culture and tradition of Georgia. Georgian hospitality can be well felt at Old House Mestia Hotel, it is part of your spiritual journey to Georgia.

    Room

In the rooms, light wood design is used, one of my favorite colors for walls and floors. A color that makes the space very cheerful.

The architecture of the rooms is very simple and orderly, this psychologically keeps you focused throughout the day.

The skylight of the rooms is very strong and wonderful, as it produces a very beautiful color by shining on the wooden walls. I like to stare at it for hours and listen to pieces of Chopin's music.

My room had a balcony, a wide balcony with a chair, where I loved to sit for hours and watch the view. Even the rooms that didn't have a balcony offered great beauty to the landscape through the wide windows.

The rooms of Old House Mestia Hotel are very clean, they smell of cleanliness, the smell of nature and the smell of wood. It seems like they built this place just yesterday. Height and perspective are well felt in these rooms, rooms in which you feel Mestia as it should be felt.

    Restaurant

The restaurant is located on the ground floor, which is a little difficult to get to, because your new friend "Masi" knows where you are going and what is going to happen there, so he follows you and tries to make a connection. establish a more friendly relationship with you.

    The hotel owner says:

Masi is the same with all the guests, he likes them to feed him, since Masi is very cute and beautiful, the guests also like him, that's why he got fat.

Nini was worried about Masi's overweight.

Apart from this, (which was a memorable part of Mestia for me), the restaurant of this hotel is very pleasant, as well as beautiful as the rest of the hotel. The breakfast is included for all guests, it's very diverse, a Georgian breakfast for all tastes, a breakfast that its major parts change every day. From eggs, various cakes, drinks, etc., you may be able to evaluate it better through the pictures.

I loved the breakfast sunlight, where the light shone on my plate, lit up the entire table surface, and predicted a very good day for me. The hotel's restaurant is open to the public, and is also a great place to order for lunch and dinner.

    • One morning at breakfast, there was a beautiful voice of a girl singing a beautiful Georgian song. I liked it very much. I was shy to ask the hotel managers the name of the song. The second day too, I could only hear this song at breakfast. On the third day, however, I was finally able to ask Nini, the hotel manager, the name of the song. She said, I am the singer! Yes, that's right, this hotel is run by a professional Georgian singer.
